Founder - Om Sharma, PhD

Dr. Om Sharma was born into a Raj Purohit (Royal Priest) family in Rajasthan, India. He lives in NJ with his family. His entire family is involved in social and community services. He is a senior pharmaceutical executive in clinical drug development area. Dr. Sharma had led successful development and commercialization of life saving drugs such as Xarelto (heart disease), Invokana (diabetes), Erleada (prostate cancer), hormonal contraceptives for women, Priligy, Doribax, Children’s Advil, etc. Before entering the pharmaceutical world, he was a University Professor at Johns Hopkins University, Univ of Virginia, Max Planck Institute in Germany and AIIMS, Delhi. Dr. Sharma studied Hindu Vedic rituals, Vedic scriptures such as Vedanta, Bhagvad Gita, Brahmasutra Puranas, Ramayana, etc. under the guidance of Pandit Ram Kishan Sharma, a renowned Vedic scholar in Rajasthan. Subsequently, he has been performing Hindu Vedic rites including weddings, other Samskaras, and helping the Hindu community in the US. Dr. Sharma and Mrs. Sharma have been teaching Sanatan Dharma, Vedanta, Gita and Ramayan classes in the community and Cultural Center.

The organization is administered by board of directors and advisors. It also has a team of volunteers from our local community as well as in India who work tirelessly to ensure that the goals and objectives of the organization are carried through in smooth and efficient manner.

Dr. Sharma has been serving in different social organizations for the last 35+ years.

Co-founder & Trustee - Manju Sharma, MS, PA-C

Mrs. Manju Sharma is the co-founder and Trustee of the Isha Vedic Foundation. Professionally Mrs. Sharma is a Certified Physician Associate and have been in medical practice (surgery) in New Jersey. She actively leads and supervises the healthcare camps of the Organization. She is also, overseeing all the other activities of the organization. This has been her passion to reach out to poor people in India for their healthcare needs.

She has been involved in several other social organizations such as Hindu Temple and Cultural Society of USA, Global Indian Cultural Association (GICA) and Hanuman Temple, NJ, Sanatana mandir, NJ, Hindi USA, etc. She is also a certified Vastu Shastri, and yoga teacher. She teaches Sanatana Dharma, Bhagwat Gita, yoga, dancing and leads Ramayana recitations.

Co-founder & Trustee - Dr. Himanshu Sharma MD, PhD

Dr. Himanshu Sharma is a co-founder and Trustee of the Isha Vedic Foundation. He is an inspiration for founding the organization as he is very passionate about serving the less fortunate ones in any area of need. Professionally, he is a physician scientist specialized in neurosurgery. Currently, he is a chief resident in neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He is actively involved in other charity organizations with the objective of serving humanity.

Lok Shandilya, M.D, Ph.D.

A Physician, practicing medicine in Richmond, VA area for the past 30 years. He runs a Non-Profit Organization (Global Health and Education, Inc.) and has been organizing Charity/Free Health Screening Camps in Richmond area as well as in Rajasthan, India. He is an active supporter of Isha Vedic Foundation activities.

Dr. Upendra J. Chivukula, Commissioner Emeritus

Dr. Chivukula's Professional background includes extensive work experience with utility companies like AT&T and Bell Labs. He has served as a state legislator and as a commissioner at the New Jersey Board of Utilities. He has been involved in multiple social organization.
